Skill Drops

We'll drop in a few, meaningful conversations throughout the retreat--what we call Skill Drops. These aren’t your typical classes. Think of them as quick, interactive conversations (beachside, yes please!) We didn't choose these tools because they sounded good it a book--we chose them because we use them. A lot.

Adventuring together is one of our favorite things...and also one of the places where our real stuff tends to show up. Both of us usually hit a wall at some point--whether it's on the trail, when plans go sideways, or after a long day when we're just wiped out. We each have our own ways of handling those moments--which means we've had to figure out how to pause, reset, and move forward as a team.

These tools have helped us do that--mid-hike,
mid-disagreement, and back at home when life feels just as uphill. That's why we've built them into the
retreat--not as heavy sessions, but as simple conversations that give you something useful to take home. They're short, interactive, and tied to the kinds of things that naturally come up when you're adventuring together: your mindset, your stress patterns, the ways you connect (or miss each other) when things get tough.

But make no mistake--this isn't therapy with a scenic backdrop. The conversations you'll have are real and meaningful, but they are also down-to-earth, and fun! We leave the clinical talk back at the office. This retreat is deeply therapeutic, but in a way that feels more like connection than counseling.

You'll leave with:

🛠️ A Way to Repair

When it Matters Most

Because you will miss the mark sometimes. Learn how to own it, repair it, and move forward without keeping score.

Small repairs → big trust.

💞 A Daily Connection Habit

That Doesn’t Feel Forced

Big conversations are great, but the small ones matter more. Learn how just 10 minutes a day can keep you close, even when life gets full.

10 minutes a day can do more than 2 hours of hashing things out.

🪞A Clearer Understanding of Yourself (and Each Other)

Get to know the parts of you that show up in your relationship — the ones that protect, avoid, or fix — and how to work with them, not against them.

More self-awareness → more empathy.

🧠 A Way to Shift Your Thinking When You Get Stuck

Catch the thoughts that fuel disconnection or frustration, and practice how to shift into a mindset that brings clarity, calm, and compassion.

Change the story → change the outcome.

DAY 1

MAY 4, 2026

7 PM - 8:30 PM - Your adventure starts here: Info, Introduction, and Q & A.

*Marriott's Kauai Beach Club check-in is available starting at 4 PM.

DAY 2

MAY 5, 2026

We'll kick off the day early--like before the sun's up early. A quick breakfast (included)  will be ready for the road: think protein drinks, fruit parfaits, and a mix of muffins to grab and go. Then we'll drive to the trailhead and start our hike. The day will have a chill but challenging rhythm--hike, rest, snack, enjoy the views, repeat. No rush, just taking it all in and enjoying the journey.  Once we get to camp, we'll set up our tents and settle in. Dinner will be our first real backpacking meal, and trust us--after a day on the trail, freeze-dried food is going to taste amazing. We'll wrap up the evening around the campfire, then drift off to sleep with the sound of waves crashing in the background.

DAY 3

MAY 6, 2026

Today is all about letting your body (and your soul) relax. No alarms--wake up whenever you're ready. After yesterday's adventure, this will feel like a total reset. We'll spend the day at the stunning and remote Kalalau Beach. There's no rush, no schedule--just lots of free time to do whatever feels good. Soak up the sun, cool off in the waterfall or nearby river, wander the beach, explore the cliffs, take a nap in the shade--this day is yours. We'll also introduce Skill Drops and have a few guided partner activities available to do throughout the day whenever it feels right--easy, meaningful moments to share and reflect. In the evening, we'll all come together around the campfire as a group before turning in for the night.

DAY 4

MAY 7, 2026

Today will be much of the same laid-back goodness--another chance to slow down, soak it all in, and enjoy Kalalau at your own pace. We'll have a fresh set of Skill Drops to explore, offering fresh ways to connect. And for anyone feeling it, we might even rally for a good old-fashioned game of beach whiffle ball. No pressure, just fun in the sun, however you want to spend it. Like the nights before, we will end the evening around the campfire.

DAY 5

MAY 8, 2026

Today we hike out. We'll start breaking down camp at sunrise and hit the trail early. The hike will feel familiar--just the reverse of our first day--but with lighter packs and a little extra trail confidence under our belts. Most people find the return hike goes a bit faster, fueled by the growing promise of hot showers, real toilets, and a well-earned, non-freeze-dried meal. Once we're back at the trailhead, we'll head back to Marriott's Kauai Beach Club to get cleaned up and rejoin the world feeling a little more wild and a lot more grounded. That evening, we'll come together one last time to share a final meal at the Plantation House by Gaylord--good food, fresh clothes, and time to reflect on everything we've just experienced. This is where our adventure ends--but hopefully, it's also the start of something new.

*Marriott's Kauai Beach Club check-out is 10 AM  on May 9th.
