Walk & Talk Therapy

What is walk & talk therapy?

Walk and talk therapy is just as it sounds-----instead of a traditional 50-min session in my office, we WALK!

What are the benefits of walk & talk therapy?

There are many! Walk & talk therapy gets clients moving--both literally and figuratively. Research consistently shows physical exercise is good for both physical and mental health. Even mild exercise has been shown to reduce the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Many clients report an increased ability to process through difficult circumstances with the combined benefits of therapy and natural endorphins (feel good chemicals) released through physical exertion.

What if the weather doesn't cooperate?

In office sessions are always available at my office in Roseville. I allow flexibility with my clients to make the "weather call." If the weather isn't cooperating, we can easily meet for a standard in-office session. I do require at least two hours notice.

Where do we walk?

You get to choose. There are numerous beautiful walking paths in the Roseville, Folsom, and Granite Bay area. Part of walk & talk's appeal is it allows us to meet in a location convenient and comfortable for you. If you don't have a preference, my most popular session site is along the American River Trail, beginning and ending in Folsom.

Is this considered a cardio workout?

No, generally it's not. Usually we walk at a slow to moderate pace. However, if a brisk pace feels right for you, I will take your lead. Regardless of pace, moving your body is proven to be beneficial!
